The expertise and teamwork of our logistics sourcing organisation is incredible and it makes me very proud to work with such a professional group. My main task is to secure and manage container shipping capacity for UPM businesses. I’ve worked in corporate logistics since 1998 and spent a lot of my time dealing with subcontractor relations. Every day is different and I adore working in amultinational environment with both internal and external parties. Inmy spare time, I love being at our summer cottage and going hikingwith our pet cocker spaniel. I also enjoy reading and find knitting a very goodway to relax. UPM is inmy blood – 2021 marks my 25th anniversary with the company and I ama fourth-generationUPMer!

Today, I worked with customers both in Japan and internationally to work out a strategy for fu ture communication. Iwork in sales, so being in constant contact with customers is the best part of my job. I love finding out more about other people and gaining new knowledge from them. I’m originally from Tokyo, and in my free time I love climbing mountains – I have climbed both Mount Fuji here in Japan and Yellow Mountain in China. One day, I hope to take on the Alps! I also love playing futsal and singing karaoke. I am also about to become a father and can not wait to begin our life as a family! I have been at UPMsince 2015, but actuallyworkedwith some of the company’s products pre viously. So when this job came up, I jumped at the chance. Whenever I face challenges, I always know I have the support of my fellowUPMers – and that means a lot.

Today, we worked on gathering information to determine the root cause as to why over the past fewmonthswe have had issueswinding a particular filmprod uct. In my current position I am responsible for the Fletcher, North Carolina, la bel stock factory’s quality and continuous improvement activities. In 2022 I will celebrate 10 years at UPMand I’mas enthusiastic now as I was back in 2012! I like to develop plans, gather buy-in, and then implement the plans. This results in collaboration to ensure our constant evolution, which I find valua ble and enlightening. It is from this collaborative approach that we have seen our site grow and develop. It is really inspiring to see the gains that are possible when we work together as a team. In my spare time, I love spending time with my two kids, Olivia (17) and Bodhi (15), mom; and my fiancé Gwen . I also love to cook, in particular bar becue, while you can usually find me in my garden once I have finished work, tending tomy plants.
