DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMME

The Development Programme looks to create long term arrangements with Uruguayan rural producers to include forestry in their own establishments, as well as the management of Eucalyptus plantation and forestry services in their fields. The programme offers producers an alternative for the diversification of their business and promotes integration between different agricultural services.

Associate producers may include individuals, institutions or pension funds. Some examples include Caja Notarial (Notarial Savings Bank), Caja de Jubilaciones y Pensiones Bancarias de Profesionales Universitarios (Bank retirement and pension fund for university professionals), Caja de Jubilaciones y Pensiones Bancarias (Bank retirement and pension fund) Asociación Rural de Soriano (Soriano Rural Association), and Sociedad de Fomento de Flores (Flores Development Partnership), among others.

The objective of the development programme is to contribute to the supply of the Fray Bentos mill and the future mill in Paso de los Toros with timber from Associate

Producers’ plantations.
