UPM Forestal Oriental Annual Report 2022
THIS IS HOW WE PREPARED FOR THE OPENING OF UPM PASO DE LOS TOROS
Towards the end of the year, we met the big challenge of incorporating more than 50 people from the interior of the country into the UPM Forestal Oriental team in different areas across the company. One out of every two new hires were women and 85% of new members work in their own cities or areas of influence. The team for the new nursery in Sarandí del Yí and the timber reception team in the Paso de los Toros mill were completely consolidated. It was a great challenge for the Human Resources
team to successfully build these teams, embarking on different stages of recruitment, induction, and many hours of training. As our forestry operations grow year after year, the onboarding process is a big challenge for everyone and requires a strong commitment from our teams and leaders. As part of this process the new hires this year were a part of the eighth edition of the Forestry Academy - a theoretical and practical training program me with field trips led by different experts in the company’s operational processes.
