A PERMANENT COMMITMENT TO WOOD LOGISTICS EFFICIENCY
In 2022 our team continued to work hard to supply wood to the mill in Fray Bentos. By the end of the year the first lorry with wood drove into the new mill in Paso de los Toros, which marked a significant milestone for our operations. The trip required many months of planning and putting the logistics chain into together with transportation companies to focus on safety as well as operational and systems management. operation, including a training plan developed
authorised by the Ministry of Transportation and Public Works. This type of technology, which allows for bigger loads, has the highest safety ratings, and allows us to reduce CO2 emissions. These lorries also have a driver fatigue sensor, a blind spot sensor in the rear view mirrors, ABS + EBS braking system, ESP electronic stability system in all its axes and a frontal collision emergency alert radar.
During the year, these transportation companies welcomed new drivers, mechanics, supervisors, and administrative personnel to focus on being able to coordinate with our teams more efficiently. We are a iming to keep working on the continuous improvement and logistic efficiency of wood supply, as well as improving our allocation and control systems for shipments with the most up-to date technology. In this sense we had 10 tri-trains – high capacity transport trucks – operating along the country’s coast in corridors
