ROAD SAFETY PROGRAMME FOR WOOD TRANSPORTATION Our programme promotes responsible handling, safety, and knowledge of transit standards. It is intended for all forestry transportation business es , rural communities, and public and private institutions, as well as our own employees.
ACTIONS PROMOTED BY UPM
Scoring system for transport units The aim is to correct driving habits. Each unit begins with a maximum score. As they deviate from complying with traffic regulations or work standards defined by UPM Forestal Oriental, points are taken, and units can end up with no assigned trips for a certain period of time
Unit based checklist s to track performance based on recorded deviations
Inspections, accident rate reports, and monthly safety recommendations from the Centre for Accident Prevention (CEPA)
GPS tracking Speed control and traffic zones
Biannual meetings with transportation companies
Psychotechnical tests HGV driving courses and en-route tracking
