advanced currently available. It takes less than one minute and can scan more than 600 lorries every day. The system is able to measure different load configurations and different types of lorries.

Continuing to prepare the logistics for the supply of timber to UPM’s new mill in Paso de los Toros, we completed a network of intermediate stockpiles during the year. Facilities were set up in Queguay (Paysandú) and Sarandí del Yí (Durazno). The city of Tacuarembó, in turn, continued building stockpiles in El Capricho (Tacuarembó), El Criollo (Río Negro) and El Cordobés (Durazno), which became operational at the start of 2023 in line with operations in the new mill.

These intermediate stockpiles are located on paved roads and make it possible to optimise the supply of timber no matter the weather. They supply wood to the mills during rainy days, guaranteeing the proper use of neighbouring roads. To be able to receive and cut timber, these stockpiles have high-precision scanners, which provide real-time volume measurements and biometrics of the logs loaded on a lorry.
