FOREST SCHOOL FOR KIDS

DID YOU SPOT THE SPECIES? These are just a handful of the 45,000 species of flora and fauna that coexist in Finnish forests today. UPM is fully committed to conserving this magical setting and ensuring it is enjoyed by countless future generations.

LAST AUTUMN UPM organised forest excursions for sixth grade students at five mill locations across Finland. Around 1,200 pupils and teachers participated in the event, which was now organised for the third time. During the outing, the students learned about commercial and recreational forest usage, wildlife management, and everyday products made fromwood. Through immersive, hands-on experience, they also learned about sustainable forestry and forest habitats. The educational forest excursions are part of UPM’s Biofore Share and Care programme.
